Mission Statement
Our mission is to grow vibrant, healthy, and hard-to-find produce using sustainable, methods like hydroponics and urban gardening. We want to make high-quality food accessible, especially in areas where fresh ingredients can be hard to come by. Through education, community involvement, and a commitment to sustainability practices, SoiLaDee Farm Co. aims to be a source of both nourishment and knowledge.
Company Information
SoiLaDee Farm Co. is located in Martinsville, Henry County Virginia. We focus on urban farming, hydroponics, and sustainable agriculture—all areas gaining momentum as more people seek locally grown food and environmentally friendly practices. With rising concerns about food deserts and limited access to fresh ingredients in rural areas, we’re stepping in to fill that gap with flavor, freshness, and care.
Hydroponics
We grow all our microgreens in 10×20 trays in an automatic vertical hydroponic system. There is no dirt involved. We use coco coir or other soil substitutes to keep the plants supported, while the roots get fed straight from the nutrient-rich water running through the system.
They grow much faster and taste noticeably better. It also means we can grow a massive amount of food in a fraction of the space a traditional farm need. We do not have to worry about droughts washing out our crops or winter freezes killing the plants, bugs eating the leaves, nor weeds or the need for pesticides. We control the environment, so we can grow fresh food all year long.
Traditional farming wastes a huge amount of water, but our system just recirculates the same water over and over. We use up to ninety percent less water than a standard farm. We run everything on energy-efficient technology because we want to grow real food for our community without draining natural resources or leaving a mess behind.
